my, oh my... [TONS of pictures]

how time has flown. we recently took family pictures. it's become sort of a tradition to do our family pictures the weekend after thanksgiving when the leaves have turned yellow and are falling. so we hired our lovely friend shannon powmargo (her flickr site) to do our pictures again. we had done our first set of "family pictures" in november of 2008; here's the post with those pictures. we didnt do them in 2009 because we headed out to cali for thanksgiving, but we remembered to do them this year. probably cause i didn't want to be the bad mom and not take pictures of my child.

for just a quick comparison before the reveal...this boggles my mind! my, how pictures seem a little bit more difficult to take when there's a 16 month old involved!

so lame...(lamer without pictures!)

so i havent blogged in about a month and a half...since sept 24th. what the heck! i feel so behind...

but a lot has happened since then. i wish i could type it all out and wiggle my nose to make pictures appear and be done with it. but thats not how it works in real life. so youll just have to be patient.
we moved in early september into a friends basement (to get caught up and get ahead in life) and our internet connection has been off and on...nothing real consistent. so needless to say, this is why blogging has been sparse. all our pictures and what nots are on our computer. and no internet means no blogging. the internet should be good to go (as it is right now) so i shall get caught up with things...like evelynn walking, birthday party details (yes, her party that was in JULY!), halloween, couponing fun and other random stuff.

just the beginnng...

...of my couponing adventures.

i walked into walgreens yesterday with a piece of paper [battle plan well written out] and my coupons. i was so excited to see what happened. i walked in and picked up all this...

[a pack of sara lee hamburger buns is not pictured; they were left in the kitchen!
and yes the pack of candy corn had been opened, half eaten, & put in a baggie!]

after a couple different purchases and a return [im learning here folks!] i walked out with all these goodies for $7.29! basically the cost of the carmex things... not bad for a beginner. i plan to get a lot more goodies for cheap of free soon!!! keep posted kids!

yeah im late... day 19 of 30

ok...so i know i have fallen off the blog planet, but with good reason. our lives have been a little crazy lately. within two weeks we had given our notice [on the 1st] to move out and were moved out on the 11th. nuts, i know. especially with a 13 month old! lots of late nights while someone sat at the house, cause night time is the prime time to get stuff done. anyway, so my 30 day challenge was put on unintentional hold...

day 19- nicknames you have and why you have them

i have had many nicknames over the years. lots of them are of this sort [noun]water. for example, sour water, gutter water, etc. not pleasant but you get the idea! i think these all came from people trying to be funny...or so they thought. a good friend of mine calls me swater and has done so for a long time. i in turn called him jwater! now i have the pet names like babe and love...oh and booger face. :] these are used by steven! haha... so there you have it!

hmm...where to start.

* get out of debt & ahead/prepared for the future

* lose weight (always a goal, right...) - just enough to feel healthy and in shape
* really make time for "me"; to journal, read, take a nap, anything!
* have a date night with steven on a regular basis
* grow closer to Jesus - you can never be close enough!
* have more babies!!!
* be a stay-at-home-mom...eventually.
* go on a real vacation somewhere

day 12- how you found out about blogger and why you have one

i have NO idea how i originally found out about blogger.
i guess i just started hearing about friends who had blogs
and i would bookmark them so i could keep up with them.
plus i just love looking at pictures!

why i have one...well i started our blog when it was just
steven and myself. it gave me a place to rant and rave
and to have a place where family could keep up with what we are doing.
there wasnt much on the blog until little miss evelynn came around!
now its just me being a mommy talking about my baby and life in general.
it gives me a little bit of "me time".

day 9, 10, & 11 of 30 [3 for 1 day!]

ok, so i'm tardy. [sounds do elementary school!] anyway, i started back at work full time this week. which means evelynn goes to a sitter all day. so when i get home i don't want to do anything but hang out with her. so i've been waiting to blog after she goes to bed. but then i just want to hang out with steven. so...all this to same, I'M LATE! oh well...

here is back to the 30 days of me...

day 9- something you're proud of in the past few days

one thing i am proud of is a close friend who wants to get closer to Jesus and see what life can be like when she lets Him into her heart. i'm so happy for her and can't wait to see what's in store for her and her family. i'm proud because she is making this decision for her and her family, despite what other family members may think. yay Jesus!

day 10- songs you listen to when you are happy, sad, bored, hyped, mad

there is no way i can narrow this down by specific songs. i think a majority of the time, no matter what kind of mood i'm in, i'll listen to worship songs. be it happy, sad, mad, whatever, i love listening to hillsong united. they definitely make me smile and love Jesus even more.

and sleepy time music is a whole other story! i love me some sigur ros and godspeed, you black emperor!

day 8 of 30

day 8- short term goals for this month and why

well august is almost over. so i will make my short term goals to be through september...setting goals makes me nervous. i just think about the looming failure if i dont accomplish them. and goals dont seem to be like the alarm clock where i can keep pushing snooze and it be ok. i can put off goals if i set them...so lets see here.

one. begin couponing --> which leads to saving money
two. get back on the wii fit bandwagon
three. start doing my art journal again
four. drink lots more water
five. lose five pounds [honestly, this one scares me to actually write down]
six. really get a grasp on my organization

im sure there are so many more, but we'll stop!
im going to set an alarm on my phone and write an update on my goal progress.

day 7 - a picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you

in thinking about who or what has the biggest impact on me i think first of Jesus and the Bible. cliche as it may sound, it's the truth (in more ways than one). i was going to try and think of something else that has an impact on my life, but i'm going go stop there. sure there are people and things that impact my day to day life, but Jesus is by far the most important. my relationship with Him is what gives me the strength to get through this crazy life and what puts happiness in my heart when things are quite right (according to worldly standards). so this is where my impact starts and ends.

day 6 of 30 [a day late]

ok...so i'm not slacking,i promise! i was typing this blog out yesterday afternoon when all of a sudden all the electrical appliances in our house clicked off and the monitor went black...just as my picture was uploading. so yes, i am a day late, but with a good REASON not excuse!

day 6- favorite super hero and why

my favorite superhero(es) would have to be the incredibles. they're a family unit that sticks together. they're there for each other when they need it the most. and most of all...the mom is awesome! she is the super mom! i wish i could stretch like her sometimes. either that or having a 3rd and 4th retractable arm!

day 5- a picture of somewhere you've been to

ok...so i did it again and picked more than one picture. its so hard to choose from soooo many pictures!!! anyway. the top picture is when we were in california and we went to the farmers market in LA. this was the second time we had gone. i HEART this place!!!!

and the one below is also when we were in california. we actually made it to an angels game. i love going to baseball games. the noises, sights, and all the yummy treats. so my TOMS and i represented the angels!

day 4- a habit that you wish you didn’t have

hmm... i have many habits. which one would i not want to have?? i guess if i had to pick one i'd go with my habit of not taking the top lid of the pile when getting a soda. and i don't take the second one, i've got to go a ways down in the pile to get one. so if i didn't do this, perhaps id save some time. and all those seconds saved would turn into hours id have back. :] so there you have it!
