the big O-N-E!!

today my little baby turned ONE!!! so crazy to think a year has gone by already. a year ago today i was laying in the hospital mezmorized by little bundle of joy! i was so in love. you can see more pictures and read about the day here.

this past year has been amazing and fun. to watch evelynn grow and learn. she has learned so much in just the last week. i can only imagine what the next couple years will be like. oh my! we have been looking forward to her first birthday since the day she was born! we celebrated her birthday with a little trip to the beach. she loves the sand and the water. she spent some time in the water with her dad. at first we only put her feet in and decided to put her wetsuit on and let her get a little more wet. the whole time changing her she was staring at the water whining. she is such a water baby! i love it.

**some things evelynn can do at 12 months** -puts hand (or object) up to her ear and says, "he-do" -says "mama", "dada", "he-do" (evelynn speak for hello) -signs "please" -crawls like a manic and is taking tiny steps in between things like the couch and coffee table -attaching herself to stuffed animals; right now its julius the monkey, minnie mouse, and her lady army soldier

so while we have been out in california its been interesting to check on evelynn and see how shes sleeping. here are a few of the times we checked on her and how she was laying...and do not worry your little hearts, we fixed her so that she wouldnt be all cramped when she decided to move.

gah, i just want to eat her up!!!!

so i have been off the map for a while...
ive been packing stuff for a couple months in cali and then spent a week up in big bear, ca for our senior high youth camp. a wonderful time with Jesus and the kids; a post to come soon.

so needless to say, i need to get settled and get pictures together and ill get back on the wagon!

ten months

today evelynn is now ten months old! crazy where the time has gone...
"what have i found here that i can eat?!?!"

at ten months, we are still waiting (patiently) for evelynn to crawl. she gets on all fours and moves backwards. she rolls to get to where she wants to go. and once she's there she uses her reverse skills to get back on her bum. she loves to stand at the coffee table and try to touch everything! she says dada and other consanant-vowel combos. still waiting for mama! she is lots of fun to play with!

this is evelynn and mama in front of her "first birthday" countdown. yes i am one of those who will find any excuse to make one of these chain thingys! so one night when evelynn went to sleep, i went to work! its crazy to see the days going by til my baby is one year old...a WHOLE year old...as of today there are 61 days left until the extravaganza!!! book your flights now people! :]

its been an amazing ten months watching evelynn grow and learn new things. every day is so much fun to watch her play and interact with the stuff around her. oh how we love her to pieces!
